Hey Seoul Crushers!

So, get this – Cha Seung Won and Yoo Hae Jin (or Yoo Hai Jin, if you prefer) are like the OG hosts of this super popular Korean reality show called Three Meals A Day. These two have been tight for years, and fans just can’t get enough of their bromance.

But check this out – on the latest episode of Three Meals a Day: Light (it’s like a special 10th anniversary season), things got a little heated between Cha and Yoo. And it was all over a pot of gochujang stew, if you can believe it!

So here’s what went down: Cha’s in the kitchen, throwing together this stew with all his favorite ingredients. He steps away for a sec to grab some more peppers, and Yoo decides to toss in some super fermented kimchi. Big mistake.

Cha comes back, spots the kimchi, and he’s like “Dude, what’s this?” He takes a taste and you can tell he’s not happy. The kimchi totally changed the flavor he was going for. He’s so bummed he even tosses the ladle aside like “I’m done with this.”

Then they have this little back-and-forth:

“Cha Seung Won: …Did you put kimchi in this? Why?

Yoo Hae Jin: Just a little… Is that bad?

Cha: Ugh… Come on. Who does that? Who puts kimchi in gochujang stew?

Yoo: Oh, but I didn’t add that much. Does it taste bad?

Cha: Yes.

Yoo: Really…? It wasn’t a lot.

Cha: Forget this. I’m not making this anymore.”

But don’t worry, Yoo knows exactly how to smooth things over. He’s like “Hey, come have some makgeolli with me,” and that does the trick. Cha cracks a smile and gets back to fixing up the stew.

They keep chatting about it:

“Yoo: Just come have some makgeolli with me.

Cha: Whose idea was it? Who did this?

Yoo: I did. I was getting some kimchi out of the container and it smelled delicious… So I thought it’d be good in the stew. No?

Cha: No… This stew isn’t supposed to have any kimchi flavor.

Producer Na Young Seok: Do you think you can fix it?

Cha: Well, it’ll have to be a different stew now.

Yoo: Here, take this.

Cha: Why did you do that, man?!

Yoo: I just wanted to help make it taste better!

Cha: I can’t believe you got to the stew in the little time I stepped away.”

In the end, it’s all good. These two always make up, and they ended up sharing a tasty meal of that gochujang-kimchi stew. Just another day in the life of these two besties!
