Hey Seoul Crushers!
So ZEROBASEONE (or ZB1 for short) just kicked off their big 2024 tour called “TIMELESS WORLD” with their first show in Seoul on September 20. Pretty exciting stuff!
Now, you know how the ZB1 guys usually wear these special in-ear monitors that fans give them as gifts? Well, it looks like there’s been a bit of drama with Ricky’s. Apparently, his has gone missing. Yikes!
So here’s the deal – there’s this fan group called RICKY JP that was in charge of getting Ricky some fancy new in-ear monitors. Another group, the China Mic Team, was handling the handheld mic. Both were being made at the same factory.
RICKY JP put out this super detailed timeline of what went down with the missing in-ears. Let me break it down for you:
“According to RICKY JP I am responsible for the production of in-ear monitors (IEMs) and headsets, while the China Mic Team handles the production of handheld microphones.
Both the headsets and handheld microphones are being manufactured at the same factory, with an expected completion date in November due to production timelines. The in-ear monitors were produced in August to ensure they would be ready for the world tour.”
So on August 29, RICKY JP emailed WAKEONE (that’s ZB1’s management company) about delivering Ricky’s custom in-ears. WAKEONE got back to them with contact info and asked for the gift to be dropped off at their office by 3 PM on September 2.
September 2 rolls around, and someone from the China Mic Team shows up right on time at 3 PM to deliver the gift. A staff member came out, took the gift, and even sent a photo to confirm. All good so far, right?
“According to Ricky JP, At 3:13 PM, a call was made to inform the staff to come and collect the in-ear monitors. At 3:15 PM, a staff member arrived and received the monitors. A confirmation photo was taken at the time, and there is also a call log with the specified phone number. At 3:23 PM, the China Mic Team informed RICKY JP that the monitors had been delivered, along with the confirmation photo.”
But then things get weird. On September 7, during a video call with Ricky at a virtual fan meet, someone from the China Mic Team asked if he got the in-ears. And guess what? He said he hadn’t!
RICKY JP tried emailing WAKEONE again on September 13 to ask about getting the gift to Ricky. No response. Six days later, they finally opened the email and sent some replies.
On September 20, RICKY JP sent over all the details – delivery time, screenshots, call logs, the works. The email got opened like nine times, but still crickets from WAKEONE.
“According to Ricky JP, he said thank you so much for all of your support, it is past 23:00 in KR and JP time, and we still haven’t received any responses from WAKEONE yet. We will wait for three days to hear back from them, and will discuss how to proceed.”
The next day, RICKY JP sent even more info and asked WAKEONE to check their security cameras. Still nothing.
“According to Ricky JP,We’ve updated all documents with 1) The actual chat logs from September 2nd between mic team member and the delivery member 2) The email RICKY JP sent out today, including a more detailed timeline and request to check the cctv in front of the company. The email we sent on September 13th got opened three times last night, 8:24, 0:59, and 1:02. We know @wakeone_offcl @ZB1_official is aware of this incident. We have provided all details that you have asked us, and asked you to check the CCTV for stronger evidence. We just need an update on the situation. Please reply to us, thank you.”
So now the tour started, and poor Ricky doesn’t have his special in-ears. Fans are pretty upset, thinking the staff lost his gift. They’re bummed he had to do concerts without it.
Ricky’s fans are getting pretty fed up with how he’s being treated and want WAKEONE to step up their game.
And get this – it’s not even the first time! WAKEONE has a habit of “forgetting” or “losing” Ricky’s stuff. Not cool.
RICKY JP says they’re gonna keep bugging WAKEONE until they get an answer. If they don’t hear back in three days, they might even take legal action. A lot of fans are backing them up on that.
Oh, and just a couple hours ago, RICKY JP posted an update on Twitter (or X, I guess we’re calling it now). Looks like WAKEONE finally emailed back, saying they’re checking the security footage.
“According to Ricky JP, We received an email from WAKEONE at 10:53 KST, saying they’re currently in the process of checking their CCTV. We’ll keep in contact with them and wait for the final results until 23st 23:59.”
Whew, that’s a lot of drama! Let’s hope they get it sorted out soon for Ricky’s sake.
