Hey seoul crushers! Have you heard about the Dahyun TWICE acting debut?
So get this – TWICE fans are pretty ticked off at JYP Entertainment right now. They’re saying the company is totally dropping the ball when it comes to promoting Dahyun’s big acting debut in that Korean remake of “You Are the Apple of My Eye.”
The whole drama started because of some confusion about whether Dahyun would show up at the 2024 Busan International Film Festival. Fans were expecting to see her there with the rest of the cast, you know? Dahyun’s acting debut in TWICE should be a major highlight at the festival.
People are especially mad because apparently Dahyun’s name got taken off the list for some promotional talk segment at the festival. Can you believe it? There were even fans from other countries planning trips to Korea just to see her there! Now they have no clue if she’ll even be there. Talk about a letdown. Fans were looking forward to seeing Dahyun at the event promoting the TWICE star’s acting debut.
To make matters worse, Jung Jin Young (he’s Dahyun’s co-star) had his attendance confirmed by his management the day before. But JYP? Radio silence on Dahyun’s status. And she’s the freaking female lead in the movie!
Dahyun actually addressed the whole mess on Bubble (you know, that fan communication app). She was like, “I really, really want to go to the festival!” But then she hinted that there might be some scheduling conflicts with TWICE stuff that could keep her from going to all the events. It’s a shame if those conflicts affect her debut promoting Dahyun’s first TWICE acting role.

Fan: “Dahyun, are you coming to the Busan International Film Festival???? A lot of fans are planning to go, but we don’t know if you’re coming or not…”
Dahyun: “I’m going! I really want to go so badly. I really, really do.”
Dahyun: “But I might not be able to attend all the events… I have a group shoot scheduled.”
Now fans are demanding that JYP Entertainment get their act together and adjust TWICE’s schedule so Dahyun can properly promote her movie. I mean, she’s the main female lead – she should be there for all the promo events with her castmates, right? Especially since this is her debut acting role as Dahyun of TWICE.
This movie, “You Are the Apple of My Eye,” is a big deal. It’s a Korean remake of a foreign film, and Dahyun’s playing the lead role that was originally Shin Chia-yi’s character.
The story’s all about this boy who changes after he starts sitting next to one of the top students in class. Sounds pretty interesting, huh? It’s exciting to see Dahyun take on this challenging new role. Hopefully, the TWICE star’s acting debut will be well-received.
